The first statement specified _Malkion_ rather than Makan. There is a great deal of different between the two. Malkion is a general name given to God by the westerners. Makan and Irevensavel are specific names for facets of Malkion.

So to sum it up, Syranthir considered Makan to be a false image of Malkion.

>What is the difference between the Loskalmi and Syranthir?

It depends on whether you are asking about the imperial age Loskalmi or the Modern age. The modern Loskalmi have reconciled the Abiding Book with their belief in the Hidden Mover. The Imperial Age Loskalmi are in a state of spiritual turmoil between the compelling truths of the Abiding Book and their traditional beliefs.

>I thought he was fighting on behalf of the Ecclesiarch of Southpoint.

Syranthir was fighting for what he believed in. Nobody knows the attitude of the Ecclesiarch as he may have taken either side in the war.

For the Seshnegi, the pre-reformation Church is a good parallel.
