I think the Spolites should be understood as being a theological bent among the Pelandans (much like Red and White Russians during the Russians during the Civil War).

Thus the Spolites were Pelandans that worshipped Darkness that conquered other Pelandans.

No. Burntwall is Dolebury aka Shardash. It was later built by the Carmanians and burned by the Lunar Empire.

The Ten Thousand took Pelandan wives and so the Carmanians are not concerned with the precise racial background. That said there is a strong correlation between your current position in Carmanian society and what your ancestors did in the wars between the Spolites and the Carmanians.

And to the last question, yes, there are people who have obtained Carmanian status (Hazars, Viziers, etc) who do not have ancestors among the Ten Thousand. The Carmanians ennobled natives who were useful and willing to fight for them.

The invaders are the Ten Thousand, not the Spolites. Syranthir fought for the Pelandans who did not accept the Spolite wisdom.

Carmanian - anybody who (visibly) follows the truth of Idovanus

and has the caste of Hazar, Vizier, Karmanoi or Caram

Pelandan - members of the farmer caste notable for following

         traditional Pelandan Beliefs.

Spolite - a Pelandan inhabitant of Spol, a farmer caste who

worships the evil Spolite religion, a Carmanian who
was born in Spol, or a Carmanian who follows the
         evil Spolite religion.

The definition of Spolite is intentionally ambiguous. That's because you can't trust them.
