I think somebody else talked about a group of survivors thinking they were the last humans.

Someone did that in my game. He made up a Sorcerous island ruled by wizards that "knew" the world was destroyed for its sin hundreds of years ago. (the closing/the end of the second age)

The player had rebelled upon learning there was Chaos sorcery among the ruling class and was banished - landing in the ocean, where he was picked up by a passing ship.

His name for his island was something else, but many of the people he encountered thought it might be Brithos or some lost island of Jrustela.

(We left it open and the game fell apart before we found out.)
