Not in the slightest. We all share information about our Gloranthas. What is vitally important is to keep a clear distinction between the Glorantha that we *all* share, (based on the universe in RQ, KoS, TR, ST, and anything else that has been accepted into main-stream Glorantha and used in people's games and stories: you know, "popular" as in most people like it and use it), and things that are not even intended to be for general/popular use, and can't be, because they're not compatible with the general-use universe. Greg, you made it clear (if a little late) that this business of Vingans all being refered to as "he" is in your Glorantha, not the main-stream one. Fine. I might borrow it for a few places in mine, it's an interesting idea, but obviously anything I write intended for potential use by people as a whole won't be based on that, because it clashes.

It looks as if Jeff is failing to make that distinction. His celibate/lesbian Vinga with no contraceptives may well be very interesting in his Glorantha, and as a variation in other individual's Gloranthas, but it clashes with far too much to fit in the main-stream one. Which is a shame, especially since it means this "history" book he's bringing out now has serious doubts raised as to its usefulness. If he's not bothering to make it fit with main-stream Glorantha, then it's likely to be an amusing oddity rather than a genuinely useful source of information, on par with say Pete Nash's story about Vinga, which... no, it's possible someone hasn't yet read it, and I wouldn't want to spoil the punchline. http://www.jane-williams.me.uk/glorantha/vinga/april.cfm

But anyway. That was a story. A history that doesn't fit the existing universe means you don't even get to giggle before you move on. That's a real shame, and a potential waste of a lot of work and creativity.
