In that case that's an excellent example of a Problem: thanks, Jeff.

The whole point of labelling some bits as "core Glorantha" is that they're the things that, if you clash with them, will cause people problems. People will have read that scenario, not known it was meant to be elsewhere, and used it as written. So, like it or not, unless Errata came out soon afterwards, Kalf Garstallson is the chief of the Orlmarth just after the Fimbulwinter, and there is nothing anyone can do about it. If in your Glorantha, he is not, then YGDV and so on.

In this case it's a minor point: easy enough to move a village or rename an NPC. But as an example of the principle, it's good. What the author intended is irrelevant. What's in use by the paying customers is what's in the book, whether that's the name of an obscure chief or the gender of a goddess.
