It depends. You could become tainted and have to remove the taint before being acceptable to decent society. Some taints cannot be removed - cf the Telmori.

But to become a chaotic requires far more than mere exposure to chaos. It requires an alignment with Primal Chaos.

That said, Chaos breaks the rules. And in this particular case, there are parts of the Devil known as Chaos Slime which can confer a chaotic feature merely by ingestion.

Nope. The Sleek Deer Prince joined Gbaji during the Chaos Wars.

Krjalk is western mythology rather than Heortling.

Initiation into a Chaos Cult is a pretty good rule of the thumb (significant exception - Krjalk).

Thanatar is hardly a subtle cult and Krarsht isn't chaotic.

Yes. They are vile constraints of the Cosmos.

If Thanatar was a divine cult then his saintly worship is misapplied.

They are forced to be spirits, gods and essences. Some may have minor deviations from the rule but these derive from Chaos.

A hero - monster.

Why is the Mad Sultan holed up in Dorastor? Why is Godunya holed up in Kralorela? Why is Zzabur holed up in Brithos? All remain there for their own nefarious purposes.
