I sort of like the idea that it took mingling of the everchanging nature of Larnste and the underworld venom/acid of the Ever Hungry Thing Not Meant To Crawl The Surface to create one of the Timeless chaos sinks in Glorantha.

There is also a lot of similarity between Krarsht and the Thing Wrestled (and incorporated) by Lodril.

However, the only question here is whether Krarsht was chaotic to begin with. She, or at least her cult, are so now.

For myself, I always associated her with Predark rather than Wakboth's New Model Chaos (including niceties like Pocharngo, Kajabor...) that was released (not created, excluding Wakboth) by the Unholy Trio.

But then the Chaos theme has been overdone in Glorantha.

This might be heretical, but what caused the Gods War was not Chaos. It was an over-abundance of creative power and myth. Whenever too much myth manifests in Glorantha, cataclysms occur.

In the mythic realm, there is no problem of a single thing or place being both A and B. In the mundane world, this causes problems. A mountain being a sleeping giant or dragon creates magical tension (and exploitable magic). A mountain awaking is bad news for the environment. By weakening the mundane world which feeds the mythic realm, it weakens the mythic realm, too. And it seems that the mythic buildup outcompetes the recovery of the mundane world again and again...
