Agreed. I think a solution suggested by others works: Barntar, like Rigsdal, can be worshipped as a subcult of Orlanth or in a standalone cult.

This still raises the question of why Orlanth Barntar isn't the default cult for male Sartarite farmers prior to the Lunar invasion of Sartar. I think it was Donald Oddy who suggested that farming magic like Barntar's is the province of a few specialists in each clan. I don't know enough about Sartarite farming to judge whether that's plausible or not. I had kind of pictured the typical heads of farming households working the land directly, but maybe that's not right.
