Don't forget about as son of Ernalda, who is still part of the religion. So he is one of Ernalda's son's, who was loyal and followed an earthy path.

I wonder if in such places where there is more cultural contact with the fire tribe there has been any cross contamination between Barntar and Lodril? Not that they are all that similar, other than being plough gods, but you could see people borrowing bits of ceremony or whatever.
