Of course, I've often thought of Veneration as the type of prayers you might see in a monestary. Or perhaps the flagellants. Or maybe speaking in tongues or big sing alongs. (Admittedly, those look a lot like ecstatic rites). I think there are probably a bunch of ways it works.
