My apologies. After looking through various books last night, I can only conclude that I never actually read quite what I thought I had, nor did any of the leader diagrams show quite what I thought they did.  It looks like I most likely interpolated incorrectly.

What I would like to see somewhere are some representative diagrams (or simple listings of time) for some 'typical' cottar, carl, and thane. What portions of their commitments to religion, occupation, family, leaders, etc. This might help illustrate the issue better.
