Totally without heat - yes, he did, calling it "stickpicker". Now, I'll contend that any game where players start as farmers or warriors, or Initates or Devotees of any sort, is *not* stickpicker level, but "Solid citizen" level. So to label the non-"Heroic" level of play as "stickpicker" *is* to deride it.

The other problem with Arkat/Conan level play is how many heroes can you name who had compadres of the same level in the group? The Argo, The Illliad; but not the Oddysey, or Beowulf, or Chuchulain, or Sigfried, and not any of Greg's work - his World-Shaking Superheroes are alone in their Supeherodom. The only people that come close to the Hero's level of ability are the Anti-hero.
