I think something along these lines works.

Would points spent previously as an Initiate to raise the specific feats you learned just port over when you become a Devotee? (i.e. - I had spent 10 points on Mile Long Throw (or whatever it is called) and then become a devotee, does it start at Affinity +10? (I would think so.)
