I agree with David completely. You can always bring out supplements with more detailed rules later.

Too often publishers have used this to publish an unplayable version of th game in the first book so customers have to buy the 'Advanced' book to be able to play the game, but it doesn't have to be that way. Just make sure the basic game is complete in itself, and maybe bring out a 'Compainion' with additional rules and other game resources.
