Nice insight. Remember, too, that just about everything in the clan is sworn to by the names of Orlanth, Ernald and the Ancestors.

No. The clan takes the oath, and it includes everyone who is in the clan. People can not, for instance, be exempt by going away to hide while the rest of the clan makes a clan promise.
