Er, what was the question in the post? I can't find it...

Oh? Such as? Yellowstone was on the edge of 'explored Glorantha' when I started writing. It appears in the old and much loved RuneQuest Companion. Its darkness annoying properties are from some of Greg's oldest notes. He seemed to have done a lot of early work in that area then moved on to more interesting pastures.

Heh. Well, Fay Jee used to be two hills split by a river as well. I don't know how the Arch Duchy structured things socially but the surviving tower seems to have been more adminstrative and military in outlook. The other hill, now slipped under the shallow bay, contained the churches and magical colleges of the town. This probably expains why it went 'foomp' into the water.

True. Yellowstone's survived better than many of the other former Trader Prince strongholds but it has some 'hole cards' that most don't. They control the troll-fighting magics and no one wants that to be lost. Also, the Twelve Market Loop remains a powerful trading ritual mechanism and I think that Yellowstone is a part of it.

As long as the walls stay up and we don't leave the city, that is. We can see the ruins of House Acroteri's stronghold from the highest tower.

Viniculture might be possible but I think the climate in Wenelia is a bit too wet and soggy for most of the place. The soil is certainly crummy enough for vines though!
