As far as I understand it, the point is that Heortling mythology is not
based on two individual great gods, but on the relationship between them. Their 'marriage' in human terms.
If you negate (kill or imprison) Orlanth, you create a widow Ernalda, no more a 'queen ernalda', a 'wife ernalda', a 'mother ernalda'. Their
marriage is broken and so the myths of the people who was born (i.e. based upon) that marriage don't work anymore.
