As I said, they are incorrect.
Measuring from just sought of Wilmkirk to the edge of Snakepipe Hollow, Sartar is approximately 125 miles, and from the Marsh to the edge of Prax, about 100 miles.
The breadth of the Lunar Empire is supposed to be approximately 1000 miles by 1000 miles.

But I've never said its population is comparable to the Roman or Persian Empire.
The maps are incorrect. The numbers I am giving above are more correct, though perhaps not exact.
