Holy days and High Holy days

What goes on at a typical occurrence of one of these ceremonies?

For example, do cultists spend a day re-enacting events of their god from the god time? Do they spend a day in prayer and devotion? Do they go into a trance and receive visions from the god? Do they enter the hero plane in any way shape or form?

Is it a combination of all of the above, and more? Or something completely different?
