The old, RQ2-era world map shows the lands beyond North Pent/Koromondol forming an isthmus between the White Sea and Kahar's Sea. This isthmus becomes quite narrow in the north, and is marked 'Hykimi' on the map. The map also shows it as being part of the Outer World, which implies to me the presence of hero-level beasts, and/or something demigod-like connected with the hsunchen.

Further north still, the isthmus connects to the southern coast of a sub-continental landmass - the western part of which forms the north coast of the White Sea, and includes Altinela beyond that. The eastern part, immediately beyond 'Hykimi', is labelled 'Winter Wastes of Valind', so I think we can safely assume its pretty damn cold. Aside from the isthmus, the southern boundary of the Winter Wastes is primarily formed by the north coast of Kahar's Sea. The eastern and western boundaries are vast mountain ranges, one north of the White Sea, the other more or less due north of mainland Vithela. The north boundary appears to extend off the map, but is probably Sramak's River.

As to what lives there, who knows? Demigods connected with Valind and his kin, most likely. Altinela is much further west, but it may provide something of a template for what such lands would be like. They would, I am sure, not be at all safe for mere mortals to visit.
