Main problem with something that is part of the culture, as coca certainly is in the Andes, and hazia is in our game, is that no-one local sees a reason to quit raising or using it. In fact, it will be seen as an attempt to destroy the native culture, and even those who normally don't give a damn may start getting quite possessive.
Funny thing about I remember seeing on a documentary about some anthropologists investigating some mass graves. It showed an Andean shaman performing a ritual cleansing before permitting exhumation. The narration said that he was doing this by waving tobacco over the graves. Not a chance! The branch was definitely coca leaves. Political correctness had struck again.
