Short answer: Yes. Longer answer, yes, because you have presumed a Complete Success (or at least Major Victory), in HQ-Speak.

A sorceror trying to summon a daemon as an essence is more like to have the daemon show up as a daemon, be deuced difficult to handle, and get dismissed or run wild until its link with the GodPlane pulls it back. If you just want it to run wild, you might control which way it rampages to plus minus 15 degrees if you are good. You might do even better if you arranged for something to attract it (chaos of Uroxi daemons, frex) to rampage thataway, rather than at you. Or you might try bargaining with it, which the GodLearners and First Age wizards seemed to do far more often than modern Hrestoli, let alone Rokari, would consider acceptable, or wise, even for ZZabur himself.

The process which the Aeolians use(d) to allow them to do this (safely) with *all* Storm Daemons was probably slow and dangerous for the wizard/priests involved in its establishment. It might even have depended on Darkness conditions no longer available, and unmentioned pacts due to favors done, besides that of "polluting" veneration worship of the One God into sacrificing tokens to a sacrificial God, rather than using live animals or worse, and "polluting" sacrificial worship of Orlanth the other way.

And, of course, it gets even devoted worshipers into misapplied worship, which is just as inefficient as mixed. But since Gloranthans don't know the numbers, and most are mixed, anyways, they usually do not mind.
