And this is largely how written Malkioni works, too. Languages like Seshnegi and Loskalmi are romance tongues to Brithini's Latin. That is, the script might be written in the language of the Abiding Script, but, to a large extent, you read it in Seshnegi, Loskalmi, and so on. (Although probably less so in actual church services). To a Malkioni, literally writing in Loskalmi would be a bit like writing in phonetic cockney - you just wouldn't do it, except, maybe, for intentionally humorous effect.
