I think it's a reference to Lake Oronin (or more precisely the Volcano that preceded the lake) and Valare is, to a large extent, throwing names around.

The male and female creation myths are from different places (the first is from Fire Mountain and the second is from Darsen).

IMO Lodril is as old as they are. They only look very primal because they have been superseded by other deities while Lodril has accumulated aspects and children.
