If the players insist on flying, that's not acting according to the myth, so
there may be consequences. If they pass this obstacle easily, they may
change the mythic map. Later encounters may be more difficult; they may
encounter unexpected obstacles, obstacles out of sequence, rewards may be
greater or lesser than normal, or different from what they expect. Think of
Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder", where the death of a butterfly has
massive consequences millions of years in the future.
