The Pol Joni folk were detailed in much depth by Philippe Sigaud (aka filiszigo, son of Ezkkanko) and Julian Lord in the 3rd of french fanzine "Les Erudits de l'Ambigu" back in 2002. This is over 30 pages of stories and data, including an interesting scenario with an original villain (Gunborgos' Revenge).

Sez in there the Pol Joni proper include three clans, the Arrowmane, High Horns and Screaming Wind clan. Their ruling and figthing Magics come from worshipping Derrik the Founder, Sederlanth (aka Orlanth the Rider). They also have their own heroes of Urox (Barax Oxhead), Destor (Neveros the Lariat), etc. Women worship Uralda/Eiritha and are welcome at the Paps. Their ancestress is Ernalnia Hoofcatcher.

The Amber, Ansil and Potor clans never swore loyalty to Derrik and are not per se members of the Pol Joni "tribe" but are close allies. The Amber are former grazers and still use ancient animist magics. The Potor are Dundealos exiles who formed this war clan in 1618. The Ansil are true weirdos who follow a holy man called And-Jay of the Pure Tongue, a shaman of Yamsur the Sun. They try to recreate the praxian Horse and are having a tough time of it.

The Arrowmane is particularly detailed, with the traditional roles and powers of its Council's members and nice local cults such as Thunderhoof the Daimon Horse, Jinian Thousand-Arrows, clan founder and wyter, etc.

A very interesting, in-depth presentation of the Pol Joni which I recommend to anyone who can read french !
