OTOH, I think any culture that has strong insect/darkness* links would have to have specific myths as to why certain insects arenīt linked to darkness. I imagine that (for human cultures) any substantial history of contact with Uz would lead to such a link.
- Uz, obviously, Pelorian, Orlanthi etc. I donīt think Malkioni would necessarily make that link, nor Kralori.
Personally, I donīt know if I like the automatic link between insects and darkness. While it works for beetles (for example), it doesnīt really work for bees, butterflies or dragonflies.
