"Groundmen"?  Are these the Oasis-folk, or are these another nomad tribe that doesn't ride?

I don't think either Ostrich or Bolo-Lizard riders are reptilian, at least not in my game. They are pygmies though.

The "third is obscure" is useful for both members of the alliance as it could, by a wily and pragmatic chief, be used to include any third party with only two legs - Basmoli, Men-an-a-Half, Groundmen, the Invisible Tribe, the Cannibals, etc.
