Certainly! I think the Greydogs have had several humakti chiefs, iirc.

The trick is they ALSO have to be an initiate of "Orlanth the Chief" or by definition they are "just" a warleader or other temporary figure of authority.

Someone powerful in Humakt has probably "wasted" a lot of time learning skills and magic that isn't directly helpful to leading a clan in peacetime. They are also likely to make decisions that lead their clan to War, rather than peaceful resolutions. Their ability to perform Orlanths "husband and father" roles in rituals will likely be compromised as well, in direct proportion to their devotion to Humakt. The clans farming and herding magic will suffer as well.

If your clan lives on the edge of Delecti's marsh, a Humakti Chief could provide Death and Undead-Slaying advantages that outweigh the downsides. If your clan depends entirely on the fertility of it's sheep herds, a Humakti chief might well be suicidal.

A "Clan" that follows a Devotee of Humakt is not really a clan at all, but a warband. If it isn't a warband yet, will shortly become one as it gives up on farming, herding, childrearing and other "pointless" activities that it has no magic for.

Similarly, any clan silly enough to appoint a Devotee of Yinkin as "chief" will be ruthlessly exploited to further the creature comforts of it's "leader" Marriages will be violated, resources depleated, Politics ignored, and justice replaced by the momentary whim of their charming, but fatally selfish "leader." Once the clan runs out of resources, it's "leader" will wander off in search of others who are better able to maintain him in the fashion he deserves.

Orlanth the Chief is the god that knows how to keep a clan safe and prosperous. If you want a safe and prosperous life, that's who you put in charge.

There's certainly nothing inherently wrong with allowing your players to discover on their own why "Yinkin Rex" and "Father Humakt" are BAD IDEAS... but it would be VERY odd for normal orlanthi to put their lives and livelyhoods in the hands of such madmen.
