This was how another friend of mine suggested I should exploit the scholarly competition theme - his suggestion was mechanically a re-themed gin-rummy. I am sure it could work and be fun. I was more interested in the creative competitive collaboration aspect, partly because I'd enjoyed myself creating documents, changing song lyrics, a the like for various Gloranthan games I've been in at various times and thought it could be fun to add a competitive aspect.

I am sure Greg's idea for the Kraken will be fantastic. I've always liked the "gloranthan documents" included in various products - the footnotes, sidebars, curses and blessing at the start of books, and once tried to catalog not the active Heroes who did the deeds but the scholars who recorded events.
