Right, let me try to focus a bit:

My player wants his Issaries goldentongue to be able to heal a bit with the grace of CA, get some feel for magic by asking for help from LM, and an orlanthi shield trick.

To me it sounds like these are things that he does with ritual magic. A godi can talk with other gods than the one he's initiated / devoted to right? He's got friendly relationships with all three temples, and as a wondering goldentongue he wants to be ready for a multitude of situations.

Are these things that any godi can do anyway? Are they things that a devotee most definitely can-not-do, since he's too focused on emulating the specific god or goddess?
