According to Mongoose sources the Orlanthi of the East Wilds were cursed by Saint Kus after they had ridden roughshod through Kustria and the surrounding area so as to be unable to ride horses. This is known as the Walker's Curse. The curse has led the East Wilds Orlanthi to hate horses and horseriders killing them on sight.

Asbor, a chieftain of the Lanksti Roldoling clan has offered to introduce the Orlanthi to the chariot of his god Mastakos if they pay him an exorbinant fee. The intent is to mostly improve their speed of travel.

I hope that the Issaries and Mongoose sources aren't going to be too divergent.
