I am also quite sadden by the fact that the cover art continues in the same line as the first Sartar book. In fact I haven't met anyone who likes the Sartar book cover in my local 20+ gloranthan gaming community.

But, I Don't judge a book by its cover, so all hope is not (yet) lost.
