Anyone have any thoughts about how the Windstop's end, and the associated spring in Earth Season is going to play out? I thought of several possibilities and potential effects:
  1. it is a compressed growing season. Wheat comes to harvest in the fall as usual, even though planted 2 weeks ago. Same for fruits & veggies.
  2. Sartar and the Holy Country enjoys a late-fall monopoly on fruit and vegetable exports. There's no where else in central Genertela you can buy a watermelon at the start of Dark Season! Not going to be a gigantic windfall, but it might generate some stories as clans try to get their perishable bounty of tomatoes, broccoli and strawberries to markets that will pay top guilder for them. Same for lamb and calves. It also makes the harvest EXTREMELY taxing, as there is much less time for it.
  3. Spring happens normally, then Summer, etc. It takes several years for the seasons to return to their normal cycle. This means that Sartarite raiding season is not the calendrical Fire Season. Suggests opportunities for out of season raiding that would not otherwise be possible: attempts to attack Dark Season rituals of trolls, for example.
  4. It is much more magical than either of these, with the growing season occurring in a proto-hero time.
