ST, for all its many good points, does have a somewhat idiosyncratic approach to which runes the gods have. CA has the Life rune in both older and newer sources than this (including both Cults of Prax and the most recent version, in Kingdom of Heroes), which suggests that this is an omission, rather than something which should be taken too seriously.
