Hey gang -

I'm still working on these Safelster Q&A notes (almost done with the Second Age), but want to make an observation that might be a bit of a surprise to most folk. The core territories of the Third Age Kingdom of Seshnela (Rindland and Tanisor) were either the heartland or frontier lands of the Autarchy (Dark Empire to you Westerners).

What is even more interesting is that Leplain, the chief temple of Rokari Malkionism, was deep within the Autarchy for the first half of the Second Age. When Ralios was reunified under the Vetegi dynasty circa 1000 ST, Leplain was in disputed territory between Ralios and Seshnela.

After the destruction of Seshnela in 1049 ST, all those of southwest, south, and center peninsular Seshnela were killed by the Luathan Quake. The folk of the north coast built fortresses later surrounded by clusters of towns and continued to worship Makan with heavily Hrestoli influences. The folk of the east, however, reclaimed lands taken by the Vetegi and formed the Tanisor Alliance (resurrecting the cursed title) circa 1180 ST.

Some point prior to 1410 ST, the Duke of Rindland made a pact with the Rokari wizards based at Leplain by which the ruling house pledged to implement and enforce Rokar's teachings, while the Rindlanders would remain the temporal "leaders" of the Rokari movement. That alliance bore fateful fruit with Duke (later King) Bailifes the Hammer whose soldiers were aided by the Rokari wizards to crush "the flower of southern knightdom" at the First Battle of Asgolan Fields in 1412 ST.

That gives you an idea how old Rokarism's dominance is - only a little more than two centuries. In that time, Rokarism and has grown to be one of the three branches of Malkionism that are all-embracing of religious expression in their society.
