Quick off-topic question.
Characters give one ability at 17. Can they put that 17 on an umbrella skill such as hunter or healer or member of clan? Or do they have to put it in a very defined ability, such as bow?

> Do you have to have a relationship ability on your character sheet to get help from people in your clan?
> /// This relation is part of your keyword "member of X clan". Knowing PCs, it'll probably start at 13. It means PCs have a weak connection to their clan, due to their youth, inexperience, poor family, big mouth, what do I know. Make sure they undestand what this means when they begin asking for horses, better armor, magical support, etc. All these things are possible to get from your clan - if the chieftain and the ring decide you're worth the effort.

> Using the PC's "clan member" score is the basis to roll with. It can be augmented by lingering boni from former deeds. It can also be augmented by a vast array of other scores : Handsome, Good Speaker, Rich or many Runes (Communication, Harmony, Air to simulate piety, even Death to simulate how threatening the PC is).

> For instance, if I needed healing from a priestess, would I have to have the ability: relationship healer?
> /// If you go to see Frithiga the healer for help and you have a relation with this NPC, it's perfectly appropriate. If you're both members of clan X, you have a good chance to get what you need. If you're neither member of her clan nor have a relation score with her, why would she help you ? Ask the PC what he could do or say to convince the Healer to help him/her, and make it an opposition. Same goes for any interesting request for help. Soon the players become more social - they understand the new rules.

> What if a character dosen't have any kin (What a surprise! A PC playing a loner!). Does he need that ability to ask for healing?
> /// No, he needs ANY ablity that would convince a Healer to help him specifically. He can do the "Bambi eyes trick" for instance, or throw money around. Anything's possible. Do let the players think of ways to get what they want - they will surprise you. Do not hesitate to give bonus to the die roll if you and the other players like their idea. Drop the die roll entirely if you feel it's not necessary.

> Only outlaws are loners, and they have been outlawed for good reasons. Best throw stones at them to keep them away. A loner character should stick to specific professions : hunter for instance, or follow the way of Humakt the Cutter, who severs all relationships and replaces them by the love of Death. Even this role can be social : you still have friends and ennemies.
