Trade with trolls makes sense to me, as they're in many ways the most human of the Elder races. But Elves seem very self-sufficient and alien in ways that would seem to discourage trade. They don't eat meat, they grow/make their own weapons, I assume they have little need of clothing / shelter... so what's left, other than the odd service or unusual magic item?

PS - As a guess, Rootless Aldryami may have more need for trade goods?
