In some clans this is likely the case, in others the opposite occurs. Keep in mind - there are approximately 150-200 clans in Sartar, with enough room for lots of local interpretations on what the ancient divine rules require and mean in practice. Moreover, Sartar is just one of many Orlanthi lands (whose total population is somewhere around 9 to 10 million); all fall within the basic social organizational framework, yet there is tremendous variation.
