Alternatively do the Esvularings have a Carmanian-style practice (only without the dualism), whereby only 'wizards' are directly involved with the Invisible God and perform essence plane magic, whereas people in other castes worship theistically whilst (perhaps) being dimly aware of an invisible god behind the visible gods, truly known only byh their wizards?

St Aeolus made an alliance with the Storm Gods IIRC, and the
Aeolians can use their magic because he was the first to
discover it. He's like the Horned Man of the Aeolians. On the
other hand they are not Malkioni, only a veneer that other
Hendriki display also. I think that the peasants are allowed
to muster in a fyrd, not to say a weapontake, for instance.
This would have major consequences on their magic.
