Though I found what was more valuable than any of the campaign material directly was the many little mini-scenarios and vignettes. Though most of them probably needed some adaption for HQ2, that was easy, and the general framework of what to do when characters were intent on playing out an ambush or a cattle raid etc was useful stuff.
The statistics for various enemies of course need adapting to HQ2 somewhat, but that is trivial (as you can often just say 'these guys are Hard to defeat with weapons, but Moderate with magic etc', or otherwise wing it as you go), but the descriptions and background adds a lot to a game. No, this isn't just another set of Lunar troops, these guys are the Beryl Phalanx of the Lasadag Lions.
Basically, though there are some flaws in the old HW1 material, there is still a lot of useful info in there, and I've found them useful in running my HQ2 game.
Cheers
