> The Irin School in Under the Red Moon. Not all that great IMO as its militant antichaotic ethos conflicts with the Lunar Way and there's very little effort made to explore the contradiction. As it is, it's rather bland. It could be developed into something fantastic but there's the sense of "why make the effort?"

I doubt we are going to include any anti-Chaos Lunar Illuminate cult in any future publications. If you find the Irin School useful in your campaign, by all means use it, but I personally think it more than misses the mark as a Lunar cult.

In a nutshell, the Lunars don't have a problem with Chaos - as long as it submits to the Red Emperor and serves the Empire. The Crimson Bat, the Vampire Legion, the Broo Regiment - all are examples of Chaos horrors that serve the Empire. Alternatively, the Lunars don't have a problem with Chaos that does not trouble the Empire but confines its activities to troubling the enemies of the Empire. Snakepipe Hollow, Queen Gagix Twobarb, even Ralzakark falls into this category.

Chaos that rebels against the divine rule of the Red Emperor, and troubles the inhabitants of the Empire is to be crushed like any other rebel.

But the Empire does not need a specialist cult to fight Chaotic rebels - it already has the Spoken Word, the Imperial Bodyguard, the Blue Moon assassins, and other specialists in rooting out rebellion. As for specialists in containing Dorastor, Snakepipe Hollow, and the Queendom of Jab, the Empire has them already - they are called Orlanthi. The Empire allows the Bilini to worship the Last Rebel because they contain Dorastor (weakening both in the process). Jab and SPH will be contained when the New Lunar Temple is complete.
