Many herbal remedies require fresh herbs, hence the need to keep honey or beeswax on hand to act as a vehicle for putting the healing where the hurt is. Honey is also an antiseptic, and is thus useful for the treatment of minor wounds which might get infected but do not warrant healing magic otherwise.
