The "History of Whisky" website <
http://www.history-of-whisky.com/>
suggests that the ancient Celts, who are generally accepted as knowing
how to distill grains as early as 800 BCE, might have made whisky, from
barley, rye, and/or wheat. Barley alone would make malt whiskey, while
blended whiskey contain a mix of grains. Rye whisky is a blend containing
at least 51% rye in the mix. The introduction of maize by the Lunars
takes on even more sinister connotations, as maize is the prime
ingredient of bourbon... which can be higher in alcohol content than
other whiskies.
Don't let the Shepelkirt pollute your precious bodily fluids... just say
no to maize! :)
