Doraddi and Cosmology, that's what.

Sandy Petersen suggests variously, of the Doraddi:
> 1) The day officially begins when a Day Gecko first chirps.
> 2) The day officially begins when the Sunlily opens its buds.
> 3) The day officially begins when the last dew has evaporated.

Nice suggestions, every one, actually, and I see no reason not to make them _all_ Official (depending on exactly which bunch of miserable unreconstructed heretics you ask, or more to the point, which the most convenient reference point is in the local enivironment).

But if you'll pardon me being very mundane for the moment, I'll note that they all approximate to "Dawn", so I'm going to use that general vicinity as my working guestimate. (As opposed to dusk, or midnight, or whatever else.)

Doraddi Dave (Opus Cake):
> That said, my best guess is that it would then be from the moment
> of sunrise.

I think we have a proto-concensus here...

Sandy, again:
> In my opinion the Sun is so far from Glorantha that it does not
> seem appreciably further away at Dawn whether you are in the East Isles
> or Jrustela.

That thar word "appreciably" is an intruigingly vague choice. ;-) Depending on ones sensiblities, this could imply a Sky Dome size of 50 miles [\Law], 50,000km, or say, 300,000,000km...

Slainte,
Alex.

[\Law] Apologies to Brooke the Unmetricated -- geeze, more non-SI than a US game company, how hard-core Imperialist can you get? ;-)
