Lunar Cosmos

Some people have been discussing the supposed destruction of the red moon at the hands of Argrath's dragons. So far nobody's suggested my pet theory as to the future of the Lunar Project:

The Red Goddess wins.

Overcoming corruption within and aggressors without, She successfully creates a new, healed Lunar Cosmos. One free from the original flaws at the heart of Glorantha, with all the chaos on the outside, and herself at the center.

Her cronies get to be the powers and principalities of the new lands. 'Admiral of the Black Fleet, take the Tranquil Sea as your domain and rule it as you will.'

As always, the dragons are there at the beginning, flying up to join the new world as it breaks free of the bounds of the old. Perhaps this time round, the new Cosmos will show them something they haven't seen a thousand times before.

All loyal Lunar subjects (at least, those who have reached the required level of spiritual development) join the happy throngs populating the crystal cities of the new Cosmos, giving praise to their wise and benevolent rulers.

Of course, they have only sympathy for anyone left in the decaying corpse of the old, broken cosmos. Perhaps the Mostali can hold it together for a few more cycles. Perhaps some more individuals or cultures can find their own means of escape, transcendence or acceptance.

In some areas, things may seem to be stable. For some peoples, for short periods of time, things may even seem to be improving.

But, for most, from now on, today will never be as good as yesterday.

Tomorrow will be worse than today.

And some day there won't be a next day.
