I don't think its location is known (to us the omniscient players -- it's clearly lost to Gloranthans). That's certainly a fine place, since it's hard to get to -- but it's also perhaps too obvious.

I think this episode is code for folks reverting to hsunchenism. This was the Great Darkness, and people had to do all sorts of stuff to survive.

It wasn't a nasty place in the Storm Age... The point of Storm Bull and the Chaos beasties is to be unexpected -- until you get to the Otherworld, you don't really know all the details of the myths.
