I think that the real core of this sometimes heated debate is not a rules issue but our varied wants for gaming in Glorantha. This message is a response to the overall discussion rather than specificly Keith's message.

This is not to say that I see the existing Hero Wars rules set as being perfect - I am sure that many of you have seen my (hopefully polite) complaints before. I do understand the logarithmic nature of the rules (Hi Nick!) - if you want one rule that breaks the system, just look at the Lunar ability rating multipliers for the phases of the Moon.

If you want house rules to limit augments then please go ahead. My only advice is don't make it complicated. While Hero Wars is fairly "rules-lite", it is conceptually dense. Every additional rule to remember lessens the time you spend role playing, story telling or even power-gaming.
