I don't think that going 'beyond' reality means anything in Glorantha. Magic is part of reality, and in this sense Illusion is realy just an extension of Magic, and in fact vice versa.

I think this is one reason why Trickster illusion magic, as represented in RQ3, was so incredibly powerfull relative to other types of magic. There's something deep going on here.
