To some extent I'd agree, but if you really want to continue with the same characters, don't think of "converting" so much as "re-creating". Look at what everyone remembers of each other's characters, without benefit of character sheets. Assign them their basic keywords. Add in extra skills, important equipment, followers, relationships, personality traits. Don't limit them by list-of-10 or 100-words, just do it. Now look at the "sample resistances" to see what sort of level they should be starting at - you almost certainly don't want HQ new startup wimps. Be prepared to adjust as you go, and add new skills that "obviously" should have been there all along during play.
